COMING UP! THE RETREAT CENTER
GARAGE SALE
"For where your treasure is, there also will your heart
be." - Luke 12:34
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
And, keeping that in mind, the Retreat Center is pre-
paring to hold a giant Garage Sale March 7. The sis-
ters gave our inventory a jump-start on their annual
Goodwill Day, January 3, and are now asking us to do
the same, gathering up those treasures we no longer
use to help the Center.
Sister Madeline will be accepting your donations
from March 2 through 6, and will need help with pricing
that week between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you
can donate items, help the Center price items, or help
on sale day, call Sister Madeline at 739-7786.
We won't be selling clothing or shoes, but will
happily take other donations, including plants.
WISH LIST
The Center is looking for alarm clocks--any
kind, electric or wind-up. If you have any, please call
Sister Madeline.
NEW COLOR COPIER DELIVERED JANUARY 31
The Retreat Center was able to purchase a
high quality color copier at an excellent price. Dona-
tions to help defray the cost of the new copier will be
gratefully accepted.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Delores Neumeier would like to coordinate a
volunteer availability list so that Center personnel and
retreat hospitality ministry could see at a glance who
might be available to call on a particular date. The sys-
tem she would like to set up has been used very suc-
cessfully in her home parish, St. Mary, Altus. Please
contact Delores at (479) 667-3292 if
you can find time
to help the Center.
ANGELS AT THE TABLE
February Horizons will
honor some of the Cen-
ter's most dedicated vol-
unteers, the "Angels at
the Table Ministry," about
whom Australian retreatant Sarah Kirsop wrote:
"I bow to the loving kindness,
the radiant servant heart and the treasures of Christ
in you."
The Center staff appreciates all of the gener-
ous volunteers who help in the office, during retreats,
at special events, and by promoting retreats in their
home parishes and congregations.
HELP US PROMOTE OUR RETREATS
Maryanne Meyerriecks, our Communications
Director, will be assembling an e-mail list of people
willing to promote retreats.
If you sign up for this e-mail list, you will receive
timely flyers and brochures of our upcoming retreats.
Please print them out and place them on church bulletin
boards or other places in your community. To participate, e-
mail Maryanne at maryanne@stscho.org
DOLLHOUSE ON EBAY
Joe Wasson is getting ready to put the dollhouse Fr.
Joseph Milan, our chap-
lain for 30 years, lovingly
built, along with 8 pages of
inventoried furniture and
accessories handcrafted
or donated by the sisters.
All of Joe's research is in-
dicating that this is a one
of a kind treasure.
UPCOMING RETREATS
A complete list of 2009's Retreats appears on
the flyer printed on the back of this newsletter. Several
people are registered for our first "take-home retreat"
on January 31.
Sister Rachel will be releasing details on a
Spiritual Direction Training program in the near future.
The 30 Week Retreat in Daily Life, which is being pre-
sented for the second time this year, can be taken
alone or serve as the first step in this training.
