Spiritual Director Formation
In October, 2007, St. Scholastica Retreat Center began offering a 30 Week Retreat in Daily Life, based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. In October, 2008, we started two Retreat in Daily Life groups, and added Introduction to Spiritual Direction for those who, after completing the first year, felt that God was calling them to discern whether they should enter spiritual direction formation.
In October, 2009, we will offer the first three courses in the Spiritual Direction formation program: Retreat in Daily Life, Introduction to Spiritual Direction, and Spiritual Classics.
Those who complete all three seven-month programs will enter into the Practicum phase of formation, during which they will have the opportunity to engage in supervised spiritual direction.
The Retreat in Daily Life is available both separately and to individuals who are discerning a call to become spiritual directors.
If you feel the Lord calling you to this kind of spiritual journey please register in July, 2009. Time is needed to prepare for this prayer experience and to be evaluated as to the readiness for this commitment. There will be no admittance after September 1, 2009.
